Sherbet Skies

Named this one “Sherbet Skies” because those colors felt like the sweet flavor of sherbet ice cream. I love painting skies in every color of the rainbow. I love capturing the different moods of the light and how it paints the world so beautifully. So often I rush outside to catch a glimpse of a gorgeous sunrise or sunset only to find it completely changed by the time I get there. But that’s what I love about a painting—it can hold on to that perfect moment, that moment when you can almost taste the sweet orange sherbet of the sky and stop in wonder and breathe it in and let yourself be wowed before you rush on to whatever comes next, and be better for the beauty that fills your soul. It’s the gift that keeps giving.
