Peaches

This fall I’ve found myself always on the go. My four kids are between the ages of 9 and 13 and they all love to play sports and take lessons and stay busy. I love helping them stretch and grow in all the ways they want. And I love still carving out ways that I can stretch and grow while I cheer them on. So this fall, as I sat on the sidelines, I brought a studio to my lap and painted several small paintings on paper. It was so much fun! I was more than happy to sit through the extra hour of pregame warmups, because I was just warming up my creative juices myself. I got a good umbrella and comfortable chair and did the two things I love best—art and mothering.

It’s a dream to watch my kids grow up, wishing I could bottle them up and preserve these sweet seasons we’re in just like these peaches. Peaches don’t last and kids grow up. But art! Art can capture what is fleeting and beautiful and pause it in such a wonderful way that can then give back the joy forever.

I’m so thrilled to be bringing lots of these little studies on paper to the #135show this Saturday! Swipe for details and come pick out your favorite one! @utahartmarket

P.S. thanks to @abigalepalmer who inspired me with her peaches and graciously pushed me to paint my own. I can’t stop thinking about them or painting them 🍑❤️
