Underpaintings

I love underpaintings so much. Maybe it's because it's the first inkling that the painting is taking shape. Maybe it's because of all the color (you guys know how I love color). Maybe it's because of all the shapes ahead of me that I'm so excited to paint. Maybe it's because I haven't messed up anything too badly yet. I know to everyone else it's a psychedelic mess, but underpaintings, to me, are all those hopful seeds I planted beginning to sprout.
