Letting Kids help

One of the ways I've found to balance an art career and motherhood is to find specific jobs my kids can help with, like letting them gesso my boards (aka something they can't mess up very much). It teaches them work ethic, lets them be part of the business (which helps curb resentment when I have to be away from them), helps me out, plus they have so much fun feeling like "real" artists. I usually have to brush over some drippy parts at the end, but it's usually a win-win for all of us.
