Save the Arts

I was feeling dejected about some drama in my life as I got to the school to volunteer this morning. But then there was an assembly and for the whole hour I was there, I got to listen to these fantastic musicians play Star Wars and Harry Potter and Super Mario and all these fun songs. Live music on beautiful instruments filled my soul. The kids all went back to their classes right as I finished, so the musicians were alone in the gym. I thanked them for their talents, told them I'm a painter and asked if they'd pose with their instruments for me so I could paint them. I left feeling inspired. THIS. This is why society needs the arts and humanities. The beauty counter-balances all the rest of life that can be so negative. ❤️🙌🏻👏🏻 #savethenea #savethearts
