["Long Walks" 8x8, available] There are usually three great ways to purchase art from an artist that you love. 1. If the artist is represented by a gallery (or multiple galleries), that means they are selling some of that artist's work all the time. You can go into the gallery when they're open or contact them by phone or online to see which pieces they have available. 2. Artists often participate in shows or markets. These are limited time events, usually for a night, a weekend or a month or two. Often you can meet the artist and see lots of work from multiple artists depending on the event. 3. You can contact the artist directly or go to their website, instagram or facebook page where they might post new work or list things that are available. Some artists also sell prints, drawings or other items of art. On lots of websites, you can buy a piece directly and have it shipped to you. Commissions are special projects you work out with the artist that might include a personal or specific subject. Art buying can sometimes be a tricky world to navigate if you're not familiar with it. But it doesn't need to be intimidating. And there are lots of ways to support your favorite artists and start or add to your art collection!
