Inhale/Exhale

["Locals" 12x12, available at Southam Gallery] I collect people as I travel. I inhale all the life and stories and colors and relationships that surround me and then exhale them into my paintings later. I'm so fascinated with how shared our human experiences are, how much we all have in common.At the end of the day, we're all someone's child, someone's parent, someone's love, someone's friend. We laugh and we eat and we hold each other's hands when the going gets rough. We work hard and we relax and there is beauty in all of it.
