Proud

The other day my daughter was in my studio gessoing boards for me (yay for child labor! And for kids who are old enough to help!) and she said, "You know, Mom, I really love that you've started an art business, it's really good for us." I asked her what she meant and she responded, "Well, you're not really around to help us," 😳😳😳 "but that's made us more independent and taught us how to help ourselves cause you can't do everything for us." We're gonna count this as a win and skip right past any (implied or actual) guilt. Independent children are better than helicopter mothers, right? Yay for all of us taking care of our selves in good ways!
