Party in the USA

I was running errands today and the song “Party in the USA” came on the radio. It actually made me burst out laughing, because it was so opposite of how the USA feels right now. Not quite the bubble gum party we thought we’d be attending, eh Miley? What a week. But last night my six year old said the family prayer and prayed so earnestly and intently for help with the coronavirus and then asked that our leaders would “transfer power peacefully” (my husband and I peeked at each other in the prayer, like what-the-six-year-old?? How does he know phrases like this?? My husband asked him after and he just shrugged, “from mom.” So i think i can retire from parenting now). If my first grader can say prayers like that, then I have hope for our future. It’ll all be okay 💛💛💛
