Teachers

Yesterday my kids’ school teachers did a drive by parade to all the neighborhoods in our school boundaries. I have four children in elementary school. I have gone on field trips and helped in the classroom and easily get a little overwhelmed by the chaos involved in just trying to keep that many kids calm, much less teach them anything. The people who do this work on the front lines every day are incredible and I appreciate them now more than ever. They have been so wonderful to tackle technology and patiently help all our kids still get a good education in such crazy circumstances. They have emailed and called and sent messages to my kids to help them feel loved and reassured. And yesterday they decorated their cars and drove slowly up and down the streets honking and waving and making my children feel so loved. The story of this pandemic is going to be filled with so many heroes, but today I have a big lump in my throat for the teachers. Thank you 🙏🏻 👩🏻‍🏫 👨‍🏫
