Capitol Theatre
Recently dropped this new painting off at @15th_street_gallery [“Capitol Theatre” 12x12]. The first time I went to this theater it was with my sister in high school and we saw “Phantom of the Opera.” I felt so fancy getting all dressed up to go downtown and see a live show. The music and performance right in front of my eyes was thrilling. Years later I brought my husband here to see “Wicked” and it was just as wonderful. I was pregnant with my third child and praying the baby wouldn’t come before the show (two weeks before my due date). I left the theater thrilled and happy and thought, okay NOW the baby can come 🤣. We’ve been to lots of theaters now and seen lots of shows, and it’s still so magical. The audience quiets, the lights go off, the curtain goes up and wherever we’re going to go together for the next couple hours will take us out of our seats and into a different world. I’m so glad #broadwayisback 🎭 Thank you to everyone who works so hard to put on live shows. We’ve missed you 👏🏻👏🏽👏🏾
