Green Cathedrals

Have you ever been somewhere and it feels like for a few moments you transcend normal life and the space you’re in is magic? You feel connected to people or connected to the universe and everything takes on a special kind of beauty? The sounds are music, the air is fresh, the colors are vivid and you know later when you try to describe the experience, words won’t do it justice. The listener won’t really understand, they would have to be there. Sometimes I feel this way at a baseball game or listening to live music or swimming in the ocean or being on a bike ride with my family. But I especially feel this way when I’m up on a hike in the gorgeous mountains that surround my home. It’s holy ground and I feel such a deep appreciation for the earth and my Creator when I’m there among the trees. It’s easy to forget all the stresses of normal life and just feel deep peace.
