Teachable

I grew up taking dance classes for most of my childhood. I started when I was three and took with my older sister. At our first performance, things were going along great until another girl stood on my X. I didn’t know how to dance or where to go if I couldn’t stand on my mark. So instead I just stood there and cried. My parents thought it was so funny and took pictures. Luckily as I grew up, I learned to roll with unforseen problems better. I was never the most coordinated or graceful dancer out there. But I will always be grateful for what all those classes shaped in me: the ability to be teachable. The ability to stretch. The ability to team up with people around you and create something beautiful together. The discipline to work hard and practice until you get better. I think so much good happens when you’re willing to learn, no matter what the subject.
