Lemonade

Something about summer when all the produce is abundant just makes me want to photograph and paint all the beautiful fruits and vegetables. I made homemade lemonade early this summer and took so many photos of the cut up lemons all over my cutting board. And then I couldn’t stop painting from those photos, in both watercolor and acrylic (swipe to see both). Something about the old quote to make lemonade out of sour lemons really hit me, since the world seems to keep presenting us with that opportunity. I believe in hope. I believe in bright yellow spots of joy among everything else that’s blue. I believe there is beauty for us to find in every corner we look and I pledge to keep using my energy to bring happiness to life where I can. 🍋
