2022 Highlights!
2022 was my ninth year as a professional artist and a big year for my business! Here are some of my highlights:
✨ Painted 80 brand new paintings, plus several more sketches and studies on paper. Lots of hours in the studio (new easel!) getting a little bit better and better.
✨Solo show first thing this year. I loved painting a whole collection around a theme and thinking so intentionally about what I wanted to say with each painting. I had no idea a war would break out right as I released this collection, but it made the message of hope all the more meaningful: WE CARRY ON.
✨ Had my first solo show out of state in Bainbridge Island, Washington @robykinggallery. Celebrated my 40th birthday and show opening in the same weekend and loved meeting a new art community.
✨ painted the largest commission I’ve ever done at 50x90 inches! As well as lots of other smaller commissions. I love painting your stories!
✨ participated in some of my favorite local shows like the Spring Salon @springvillemuseum, 135 Show @utahartmarket, Utah Art Market, Zions Bank (hooray that it was finally back!!), and a new show this year—Art in the Park. Looooooved talking to all of you in person.
✨ Started selling merchandise with my art on it—a dream I’ve had for a long time! Thank you to everyone who was as excited as I was and bought pieces for yourselves or as gifts.
✨ Started working with my second out of state gallery @prospecthillhome in New Hampshire and am excited to have work on both coasts now!
✨ Loved continuing to work with @davidericsonfineart in Salt Lake and having a summer group show there.
✨ Loved continuing to work with @jgogallery in Park City and having group shows there. I’m also gearing up for a solo show in their new space that opens 2/24/23–mark your calendars!
✨ Hosted my first open studio home show and loved having you all come to my space and talk I’m such a personal way. I’m planning to make this an annual thing!
✨ Celebrated three years with my art mastermind @loraleefineart @miriamtribe @anniemorganpreece @kara_aina_art. These women have helped me so much throughout my career and have become some of my best friends. It’s so isolating working alone in your studio everyday and I tell new artists all the time to build a mastermind group that you can regularly talk to, ask questions/advice from, get critiques from, sometimes even be your models when you can’t visualize what you’re trying to paint. Best of the best these four ❤️❤️❤️❤️ But I’m also grateful for soooo many other artists in this community I feel so close to. It’s a great club to be part of!
Can’t wait for 2023!!
