Behind the brush

My friend @jodilynnlee and I feel like we need to see more faces of the artists whose work we love. We’re calling it #behindthebrush Join us!

I’m Steph. I take photos of everything in life that makes me happy and then make impressionist, acrylic paintings from them. I love bright colors and want my art to feel joyful and bring light into the world. I’m good at baking and bad at scrubbing my house. I feel more inspired when my fingernails are really short. I hate when sharp things (pencils, scissors, knives) are pointing at me (something my husband & kids find endless humor teasing me about). When I read magazines, I have to read every word before I can flip the page (even captions). I’m tech-savvy but still like my paper planner. I wear hoodies in my studio all winter and stretchy A-line dresses all summer (I will always choose comfort over style). And I love anything with toffee in it. ❤️💛💙

Tell me your story! What are three things you love and/or hate?
