Connection of a Crowd

Dropped off a bunch of new paintings at @davidericsonfineart, including this one, “Connection of a Crowd” 24x36.

This was painted from a reference photo of @ecclestheater. My husband and I took our daughters to see “Wicked” and we were out at intermission. I stood on a landing of the stairs and felt the hum of everyone moving and talking and laughing all around me. There was an excited energy—a night out, a wonderful show, music that gets deep in your bones as you marvel the talent that can belt out songs like the one we just heard. There is something magic in the air that’s ignited by all of these people—a buzz that disappears when this space is empty. There is each unique, individual full of their own stories and color as they move around. But then there’s something so unifying about watching this whole group as one. One crowd. One night. One experience, made better by thousands of people living this moment simultaneously. I love humanity.
