Build me a boat

I still remember exactly how much fun I had painting this painting. I remember the challenge of painting boats from this perspective-- could I simplify the shapes? Would they still look like boats? I remember mixing that deep, rich, beautiful blue and loving the strong contrast between how dark it was against the white of the boats. I still love the design of all of them lined up against the dock and the composition of shapes, the geometry of positive and negative space... It's still one of my favorite paintings and I just might have to paint another version again cause I can't stop thinking about it.
