Peace

Little Sunday sketch on my lap during church today of a photo I took on my phone of my peach tree all in bloom. I love bringing watercolors to church (cough*everywhere*cough). I listen better when my hands are busy and I like playing with art that’s just for me sometimes in a different medium than my usual work. I loved trying to get all the gradients of color on the skin of the peaches and watercolors were perfect for overlapping those translucent yellows and oranges and reds. I was planning to draw ink lines over the top, but there was something really beautiful about all those subtle colors that I ended up leaving it just like this. Because it reminded me of why I also like sitting in church. It’s just a subtle moment where I allow myself to be still. To let quiet thoughts wash over my heart in light layers that build on each other until I have a little more understanding about life. It’s peace. Happy Sunday. 🍑
