Work and Play

[“Work and Play” 36x36, available at #artandsoup next week] I’m sitting at the kids museum on a field trip watching my boys pretend to work at a construction site. They’re so fascinated playing “work” and pretending to be grown ups. And yet if I ask them to work at home, it’s the end of the world 😭😫... Until I tell them to pretend the spilled crayons are Easter eggs and they need to go on an Easter Egg hunt to pick them all up, and then it’s play again. Kids 🤣. But really, all of us, right? It’s attitude and perseverance and a degree of just showing up and getting it done. So we can play again.
