Space To Think

I'm so excited that this painting, "Space To Think," will be part of the 34th Spiritual & Religious Show at the Springville Museum of Art. I don't always think of myself as a religious painter, but I find so many spiritual themes in my paintings as I make them, and I hope they resonate with you too (or better yet, that you find your own messages in my work that touch your spirit!). The show opens this Wednesday, October 16th with a reception from 6-8:00 pm. Come enjoy a great collection of work from local artists!

“I’m a girl who loves to pray. I love formal, reverent prayers down on my knees, praying in church or a temple, prayers of gratitude over meals, quick mothers prayers of safety when I worry about my kids.... they come in all types. But I learned long ago, my favorite prayers are the ongoing conversation I’m having with God in my head. I talk to Him as the best friend He is to me, tell him things I’m excited about, things I find funny. I lean on Him and ask for His advice. Even if the answer doesn’t show up quickly, God always does. He constantly shows me He is there and cares about me. When I’m lost in thought, I’m usually not lost at all.”
