Adventuring

[“Welcome” 36x36, available at @jgogallery] I’ve been feeling a bit lost lately, since no matter how hard I try, I’m not getting to the majority of my to-do list this summer. For someone who bases a good day on how much they accomplish, it can be hard to get to the end of the day and answer “not much.” During the school year, we tend to work really hard and play just a little. The other day I realized summer is the opposite—we tend to play really hard and work just a little. And I’m learning to realize, maybe that’s okay. Maybe this is filling up our fun tanks so we can make it through the long winter until next summer. I’m trying to calculate a successful day by the quantity of meaningful connections with people I love, rather than just more tasks checked off. And if nothing else, all of our adventures give me so many reference stories to tell later with paint. So here’s to filling your soul with the best that is out there in life! Summer on!
