happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday and I have spent the whole day feeling so much gratitude for the life I have. When I was turning 21, I spent my birthday as a camp counselor and was away from everyone I knew and loved. I made my own decorations for the little dorm room I was staying in (“steph is what? 21! Steph is tick-tick-tick-kaboom 21!”) and stayed up till midnight so I could be the first one to wish myself a happy birthday 🤣🥳. There was no cake and no presents (until a few days later when the camp was over) but it was one of the best birthdays cause I made myself laugh so hard and who better to celebrate your birthday with than you? My life is so different now, so full of people I love, but the simple joys are the same. It’s great to be alive ❤️ (PS look at this gorgeous present that came in the mail today from one of my FAVORITE artists @mark.lague!! I’m so excited to finally own some of his work! 🙌🏻🙌🏻)
