Giving my All

Like most people, we love watching the Olympics. It’s always so inspiring to watch humans at the top of their game or sport compete with others who are the same. We marvel at how fast their legs can go, how synchronized their movements can be, how hard they push when it seems so much easier to just give up. I recently introduced my boys to the song “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky and, like so many others, when we play it, it makes them want to run faster and push harder (I read somewhere that when that song comes on in a gym, they can see all the people on treadmills suddenly upping their speed and running faster). What is that power inside of us that lights up in those moments and instead of burning out, we dial it in and GO EVEN HARDER? Whatever it is, I want to tap into that— grit, persistence, tenacity, fortitude— and give my all when the going gets tough. ["Giving My All" 16x20]
