The Fun Part

My husband and I took the color code personality test years ago and realized neither of us have any yellow in us (yellow is the personality color that’s motivated by fun). I am red-blue and he is almost all red. We see a three-day weekend and think, “oh good! more time to work!” We both measure good days by how productive we were and see our time as meaningful when we’re achieving something. For better or worse, that’s how we’re both programmed and we fit well together. But sometimes we forget about the fun part. Sometimes we could do better about stopping those work trains and remembering to play and enjoy. Thank goodness for both our kids and our friends who pull us out and fill our lives with color and fun. Sometimes the best part of climbing a mountain is how fun it is to slide back down it.
