Mother Hen

I’m the Mom in my family, which means it’s usually my job to make sure everyone else is taken care of and has all their needs met and that I sometimes get the brunt of their emotions when they haven’t had enough sleep or they’re hungry or have too much homework or the days are just long (and to be fair, that goes both ways. We’re all human). But the past little bit has been so busy for me getting ready for art shows and I’ve been so humbled to watch how my kids and husband and even my sweet mom have all stepped in over and over and each of them has cared for me when I’m stressed. It’s little things for each of them (labels on postcards, wiring paintings, packaging prints), but each time it has lifted me so much, made my load feel lighter and lighter and given me back hope when I feel overwhelmed and hopeless. It reminds me that sometimes, no matter how old we are, we all need to be mothered and loved 🐔❤️
