Best Days With You

I painted this commission for one of my best friends @lesterjean and was so happy to deliver it to her at Christmas. She was my hero/friend in high school, my roommate when we were single, my bridesmaid at my wedding (we got married the same year, months apart), pregnant with our babies at the same time (our daughters are two months apart, she threw my baby shower while pregnant with her own baby), young moms at the same time (we both had four kids—two girls and two boys each), pursued our careers alongside raising said kids at the same time (she went to medical school to be a Dr, I started an art business), equally understood neglect when were busy and overwhelming love when we can see each other… lifelong friends are the greatest right? Last year she invited me to Sweden with her and her family to see Taylor Swift and I couldn’t quite pull it all off. But they went and had the greatest time and I lived vicariously through them. So when we picked something to paint, this is the scene we wanted to capture.

To all the best moments in our past, all the best memories we’re making right now & all the good times yet to come. To every day you want to put heart hands up in the air and sing at the top of your lungs cause you’re so filled with joy and love who you’re with and for at least that moment it’s all the best. To sisters and best friends and mothers and daughters and the ones who hold you up and don’t let you go even when life slips between you and makes you want to forget. To the ones who stay by your side and keep singing along every day, all the days. This one’s for you 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
