The Streets We Step
I was commissioned by a collector to repaint a favorite older painting of mine, "The Streets We Step." I actually LOVE to do projects like this. Sometimes I'm not ready to be done with something I've had so much fun painting and it's really fun to go back into it and see what I would change and what I would leave the same. The truth is, no two paintings are ever exactly the same even if I was trying my hardest to be exact because it's pretty impossible to match the perfect colors and get every stroke just so. But that's the fun of original art--every piece is ORIGINAL! I loved this project and the collector loved the finished piece. We hung it in her living room and it fit perfectly in the space. We stood there staring and talked about the fun of living with art and finding new favorite strokes the longer you stare at it or depending on how the light hits it. It's the best. I love my job so much. What a privilege it is to paint for you and create these pieces for your spaces. Can you spot the differences between the new version and older version?
