In Her Thoughts

I stopped doing New Years Resolutions a long time ago and now I just have a word or phrase that carries me through. In 2025, I found a phrase in a scripture that jumped out at me, “Take heed and be quiet.” Five words that I’ve carried in my heart all of 2025. I made them the lock screen on my phone. I thought of them yesterday when I closed my tired eyes and was still as I waited in my car for kids in between one thing, on our way to the next. I thought of them a few weeks ago on a walk when I chose not to listen to anything and instead just looked at the clouds as I walked. I thought of them earlier this year when there was so much busyness and stress and I needed moments of nothing but still. Take heed and be quiet. There is so much beauty in learning to appreciate how to stop and shut it all off and find that space within yourself or around yourself that is nothing at all but peace. I love when I can.
