Four Lemons
I am so lucky to work with so many great partners in my business. One of the first places I started selling my art was with a little pop up called Utah Art Market that would come up quarterly in this tiny building next to Sugarhouse Park. It introduced me to this amazing woman named Nanette Amis who owns and runs the Utah Art Market and who would become such an important friend to me. She is not only incredibly creative herself (making and baking several of the amazing products that she sells at the Utah Art Market, which started in her backyard and grew from there), but also became an avid art collector and supporter of artists themselves. When the Utah Art Market outgrew that little building, it was time to take creative solutions on the road and during the pandemic, Nanette took advantage of vacant commercial spaces and opened up her pop ups all over the city. It broadened the business and allowed her to finally realize one of her longtime dreams, a permanent creative store: and thus Four Lemons was born. It is still full of individual artists’ handmade items and original fine art, but curated in such a lovely way and refreshed regularly so that walking through it is both the fun of a pop up market and the deep love of a favorite gallery.
Along the way, Nanette has built out other fun traditions. Years ago, she invited me and a few other artists to lunch and we brainstormed a fine-art only show that would get collectors to come for one night only and become a premiere opportunity for both first time collectors and established collectors to find great art: and thus the 135 Show was born. I’m so proud of this show that is now been going for ELEVEN YEARS!! The next one is coming up on Thursday, November 12th at the Cottonwood Country Club (1780 Lakewood Drive, Holladay, UT, 84117) and goes from 5:00-8:00 pm. People line up early and it becomes the black friday of art buying (if you know, you know) where the excitement is half the fun of the event.
I love working with Four Lemons and am so grateful they have my art (originals, prints and postcards) available all year for purchase. I’ve created a spot on my website so you can always see exactly which of my paintings are available there and you can always reach out to them or me (we’re happy to ship!) if you’re interested in any of them. Four Lemons, like me, is a small local business and is a great asset to our community. Stop in when you’re in the area!
