Lake Surfing

For all you folks putting on layers and layers just to walk to the next building, next door, down the block, out to your car… maybe this will warm you up. Remember summer? Remember when a cold breeze is a refreshing break from the heat? Let’s channel that feeling, eh? I remember in college being in such cold cities that I couldn’t leave any bit of my skin exposed even when I thought it was a fast walk to my next class. There was one day I was walking to school on a cold morning in Rexburg, Idaho. No one was out on the streets, but I was late (as per usual), so I didn’t think anything of it. Suddenly this truck pulls up next to me and this old farmer leans out, “What are you doing out here??” Uh, walking to class? “It’s below freezing, you’re not supposed to be outside right now! Hop in, I’ll drive you to class!” I probably should’ve been nervous jumping into a stranger’s car (oh, naive freshman), but I think I was more scared of this weathered farmer’s assessment of my safety against the elements. He knows the land, right? Okay…. Lucky for me, he drove me safely to the other side of campus and I got out at my building and thanked him. Whew. So, stay warm out there folks. Or watch for trustworthy farmers and take your chances. [“Lake Surfing” 6x6, sold]
